"Stay at home Day #1"

Lounging on the couch watching movies. Doing book work so excited doesn't he look it:)
So happy now that we actually are leaving the house at 12:00pm.
Swinging at the park
Today is the first day of our staying at home for the next 5 days! I had planned to go camping this weekend but with the weather being as cold as it has been. We opted out for the nice warm comforts of our home. We did how ever venture out to Grandma and Bopa's for some web cam time with Trais! It was quite entertaining to watch the 2 boys interact on the cam. The spent a good amount of time punching at the cams, and cracking up about it. After the call we went to the park to practice our swinging it was fun, but a little tedious especially because he has very little patience for the actual learning to swing.

Visiting 1st grade

So tonight we went and met his 1st grade teacher, The teacher looks to be a seasoned veteran so hopefully she will be able to handle Trysten better than the two rookies he went through last year. Two because one got knocked up and had to go out on maternity leave. The class was large and the number of students was moderate to the public school. Other parent's seemed excited that thier child got this teacher so hopefully that is a good sign and not just some brown noising on behalf of the parents. We also saw his cubby and the lockers which he told me "Need to be washed cause they were dirty" referring to the rust from wear and tear. The school is older than his kindergarten school was and badly in need of some AC. But we did meet some of his classmates which include triplets! After he struggled to write his name on the whiteboard, mainly because he is the only lefty in the class and when he wrote it smeared the other kids names, we headed out to enjoy the playground amenities and the rootbeer floats provided by the PTA!

The Back Pack

We started our school supply shopping for 1st grade and upon the list was a "LARGE BACKPACK". Now mind you Trysten is not running short on back packs he has a spider man one that he got 2 months before the end of kindergarten it's still in perfect condition, but when we started school shopping he was very adamant that he will no longer be wearing cartoons. No Spiderman No Hulk, not even IRON MAN. So the current backpack was proclaimed in need of replacing! The backpack he originally picked out was $35.00 sling back pack, a hard pill for mommy to swallow especially when the new IRON MAN backpack is only $10. So I decided that he could live with out the cool SLING back pack. Over the weekend we were at Target and found one on-sale for $12. So we struck a deal I would by the pack if he agreed that he would only be allowed to wear it if he was good. If he was not then he would be sent to school in a PINK backpack! He agreed stay tuned to see how this deterrent works out:)

SUSPENDED!

Once again Trysten has been suspended from the Day Camp this time he was in another fight with a BOY. The note stated Trysten and another camper had been in an arguement the other camper scratched Trysten. Trysten in turn smacked the kid. He initally tried to deny it to the Director but after further questioning he admitted to the hitting. Both kids were suspended for 4 days. Trysten's response and defense was "WHAT?! I was way nicer to the boy I opened handed him, he cried a lot less than the girl she cried way longer!" So yet again another night in lock down and I guess no more YMCA day camp.

The Case of the Women Beater

Today when I picked Trysten up from daycamp I was informed that he had been suspended from camp because he had an "altercation with another camper" the parental note stated Trysten punched another camper in the stomach, after the camper told on Trysten he punched the camper again for telling on him. He was suspended for his actions. I of course being appalled that my son would punch a kid in the stomach gathered the offender up and headed to the car. Once in the car I asked him what was going on why did he punch a kid in the stomach. He stated "She back-sassed me!" Needless to say we had a long discussion about not hitting girls and he spent the rest of the night in his room.

Guess who's 6?

So usually Trysten spends the day with MOMMY on his birthday but today he opted out for the daycamp. He really wanted to go to a place called PUMP IT UP it's basically an the inflatable jumpers in a huge room. So even though it was sad to see him go I let him! After daycamp we headed out for his usual birthday Dinner at the Spaghetti Factory. We got there to early and had to wait an hour until it opened we did how ever wander around and find out there was a festival happening at the UW it was the Tacoma Art Walk. We saw many different artist including live music it was a nice day and we enjoyed the time outdoors. We were the first to be seated at Spaghetti Factory in the Trolley of course! Trysten decided to get the meatball spaghetti, and and Italian Soda. Neither of which he enjoyed. When the big meatball came out he looked at me and said what is that I said a meat ball he then said get it off my plate!
